Your amaryllis takes 4-6 weeks to bloom and then it will bloom for 4 to 6 months. 
Let your plant go through a full bloom cycle and then simply cut the wax (or moss) enclosure away and plant your bulbs in a pot or outside. Here in North Carolina you want to plant it where nothing else grows in your yard - it will thrive.
